Affordable Housing for Working Families
Mi Casa is Xiente’s innovative housing initiative designed for working families who do not receive government assistance but still cannot afford market-rate rents. These families fall into the benefits gap—earning too much to qualify for public aid, yet too little to afford stable housing.
Through Mi Casa, Xiente provides access to quality, income-based housing without government subsidies. More than a home, Mi Casa is a stepping stone toward long-term economic mobility, pairing affordable rent with wraparound services through the Prosperity Project.
Who Qualifies?
To be eligible for Mi Casa, households must:
✅ Earn a steady income (including immigrant households)
✅ Be a household of 4 or fewer
✅ Earn between $15,640 and $55,800 annually (20%–50% AMI)
✅ Apply online between February 26 and March 8, 2024
Priority is given to families earning between $23,450 and $55,800 (30%–50% AMI).
More Than Housing—A Path to Ownership
Families living in Mi Casa are active participants in the Prosperity Project, gaining access to financial coaching, savings programs, and homeownership support. While families can stay up to five years, many are ready to purchase their own homes within two years, thanks to dedicated support from Xiente’s staff and programs.
