Youth Take Action

Xiente offers a diverse range of programs and resources to empower and support youth in various aspects of their lives.

Our Teen Center Model is designed to address the specific needs and interests of youth, focusing on key areas that foster their personal and academic growth.

Teen Center

The Teen Center operates seven days a week, providing a safe and engaging environment. Additionally, we extend our services as a Community Evening Resource Center for the City of Philadelphia, offering free and secure spaces with activities every day of the week.

What We Offer:

  • Socio Emotional Learning and Conflict Resolution: We provide programs focused on equipping youth with the necessary skills to manage their emotions, solve conflicts in a positive manner, and help prevent violence in our communities. We currently use the three evidence-based Educational Group curriculums below:
  • Positive Action Curriculum: A youth-based social-emotional learning and health empowerment program geared to develop the emotional health of low-income and ethnic minority urban youth.
  • Girls Circle Curriculum: A structured support for girls and youth who identify with female development from 9 to 19 years old. This curriculum integrates relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training to increase positive connections, personal and collective strengths, and competence in girls.
  • The Council of Boys & Young Men: An evidence-based and culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach to working with boys and young men. This curriculum provides strategies in motivational interviewing and strengths-based facilitation to explore self-efficacy, educational goals, conflict skills, and ethnic pride.
  • Workforce Development Program Stipend: We will provide youth with soft skills in job readiness that will promote access to work opportunities. Xiente’s CERC programs include computer literacy classes, soft skills workshops, and career exploration activities. Actively participating in our workforce development activities will qualify for a program stipend.
  • Art & Culture Programs: We will provide youth space to explore their cultural identity, to address social issues, and express their emotions through the integration of music with professional music production equipment.
  • Positive Socialization: We will provide youth with supervised recreational spaces to socialize in a positive manner. Our space includes a recreational game room, physical training space, and a computer room.
  • Family Engagement: In partnership with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc., Xiente’s CERC will address the needs of the families by helping to identify service gaps and connecting families to our multifaceted referral program and educational workshops.
